Rise of the Beasts is back!

So I was nonchalantly picking up the mail last week when I found a mysterious little package from Jon Karis of LittleRubberGuys.com. I opened it up and was surprised to see figures from the Rise of the Beasts line! I immediately pulled a Professor Farnsworth: "Whaaa..?"

ROTB was a Kickstarter project a few years ago that easily passed the funding limit but ran into technical difficulties and had to be cancelled. The last I heard, the line was dead... and yet, here it is!

So I asked Johnny what was going on. The line is obviously back on and Johnny got these production samples a few weeks ago. The whole thing should be going strong really soon.

The Beasts are mini-figure size (2 1/2 inches tall) and they're articulated at the neck, shoulders, and waist. The plastic is the same as the Glyos plastic and the joints are Glyos-compatible, too... which means you can pop off the body parts and mix and match them to create your own Frankenbeast!

These figures are in the same scale as the recent Guardians of the Galaxy mini-figures. They don't fit in the Milano because they don't have leg articulation, but they would certainly play well in the GotG toy universe. This is interesting because this might be the scale that Hasbro uses for its upcoming Star Wars Episode VII toyline (assuming the GotG toys sold well). If so, that would be pretty serendipitous for Rise of the Beasts because you could put the Beasts in all sorts of fun Star Wars play scenarios.

Anyway, it looks like we'll be getting Rise of the Beasts after all! Stay tuned to the Kickstarter page and LittleRubberGuys.com for more!

These figures were received as a gift from Jon Karis, producer of the Rise of the Beasts toyline.
